The Burundian Council of Young Scientists (BCYS) is a scientific association without profit of young women and men who are espacially in academia. Their overall aim is to contribute to leverage Burundi on international stage. They are aware of the past, how the country has been much affected by the brain-drain phenomenon, and they want to build an new ecosystem of researchers from different fields and participate in capacity building to handle development challenges and boost the country to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The fields of research of BCYS members are diverse and include social and communication sciences.
